my laptop came pre-installed with xp and it had windvd 3.1 well after playing a vcd movie i made it wouldn't open anymore i would click & click & click & click the icon and nothing happens. i dl windvd 4 and installed it. after playing yet another vcd on it. its back to like before it wont open. when i inserted the titanic dvd it also would not open. i went into my computer double clicked on drive d and i got the message below
" d:\ this file does not a program associated with it for performing this operation. create an association in the folder options control panel."
i did just that i made an association to all .vob, .bup, .ifo to open with windvd 4 and i tried it again still get the same message. by the way those were the only file extensions there i saw a ts_audio folder with nothing in it. the ts_video folder had .vob and .bup files
*also on my win98se after inserting the titanic dvd & the home made vcd it launched power dvd 4 and it began to play. but picture quality is poor unlike windvd.
