I want to upgrade from ME to XP. Can someone tell me the pros & cons? Also where can I d/l it?

Personally, I love WinXP...but as this forum can attest, your mileage may vary.
However, I would do a clean XP install rather than upgrade it. Most operating systems don't upgrade well, because you are mixing old code with the new. For a WinME to WinXP...this is a lot of new code.
Also, there are a lot of programs that have been updated for better compatability under XP. If you upgrade from WinME these programs will still be still optimized for WinME unless you reinstall them. Windows XP may have you do this anyway.
Where to find it to download???...many people have been finding on p2p networks. But sometimes these images are incomplete or messed up. I would wait for a listmember to post a URL that they found to work.
As far as tweaking (and you will want to tweak it!)...you are already in the right place.

I use 98 on the desktop and ME on the laptop. I love my 98 but, there are alot of crashes. ME is alittle better and smoother with less crashes. I really liked XP when I installed it on the laptop but, Alot of my video editing software didn't work on it so I had to go back to ME. If your not doing alot of vid editing I would say go with XP. Once you get used to where things are, It's a nice OS. And not one crash while I used it.
As Said before its a matter of taste and configuration. Try and compare, but don't upgrade this ME with XP, or you will be looking towards many headaches. Just a clean Installation or at least a double boot, but never upgrade.
