Windows XP and BMP Files?

Guys I seem to be having a problem with my Windows XP.
When ever I do a Save Picture As in IE 6 it wants to save it as a BMP file. It never used to do this and I don't know why it has started? I know that most of the files JPG.
Like if I do it to the CDRSOFT.CC Forums thing above it wants to save it as a BMP file. This is rather annoying as I have to save it as a BMP and then Re-Save it as a JPG or GIF in another Program plus the files are pretty big this way.
Please Help.

haven't heard of this yet, my only guess is that you are going thru some sort of proxy or other secure site. Those sites in general will cause this to happen.

No its my home computer and it worked before but all of a sudden I only can save images as BMP. I get the odd feeling something has editted my Registry and that is the cause of the problem. If so I will never find the fix.

That is not how it is... I used to be able to click on a image and it would allow me to save the picture as its proper format (normally a JPG or Gif) now now I can only save it as BMP.
Test this... Se the image above for the forum. Right click and select Save Picture As... Tell me what file format it wants to save in? When I do it it calles the File Untitled1 and its a BMP.
I know that is not how its supposed to be.
So if you or anyone has any ideas I am open to trying them... I tryed a Re-install of Win XP but that did not resolve my problem.

Were I only have BMP... I guess that GIF is the what shows up and then wehn you hit the drop down you have BMP as another option right. Somewhere on my computer it doesn't know that there are other file types other than BMP. The strange thing is if Select E-MAIL Picture the attachement is proper (vBulletin_logo.gif). So there is something screwy in my IE. Dammit!

Problem Solved. I ended up formatting and re-installing Windows XP and everything is back to normal!

Now if only I knew what caused the problem.
