Bart lagerweij, the creator, explain

What is PE Builder?

Bart's PE Builder helps you build a bootable CD-Rom simular to microsoft's Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE).

PE Builder (pebuilder.exe) runs on Windows 2000/XP/2003. It does not run on Windows NT4/ME/9x.

What is Windows PE?

Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE) is a minimal operating system based on the Windows XP kernel. It will give you a complete Win32 environment with network support, a graphical user interface (800x600) and FAT/NTFS/CDFS filesystem support. Very handy for burnin testing systems with no OS, rescuing files to a network share, virus scan and so on.
Windows PE will replace any Dos bootdisk (even masterpieces like modboot and Bart's Network Bootdisk) in no time!

Please note that I (Bart) did not create Windows PE, Microsoft did. I created a builder program called "PE Builder" that creates a base Windows PE ISO image very suitable for PC maintenance tasks.

Has anyone tried this?
I cannot open a menu...I can only get a backround screen and a commandpromt.

Anyone who knows what I am doing wrong?

You may also notice some news about PE builder:

Microsoft has asked us to remove the PE Builder v2.0.x!
Sorry, no download at the moment!
Please don't mail me asking to provide you with a copy or alternate download link!

Yes....I know..and it´s quite hard to find 2.02b.
And it´s not even warez...

But as I said before, 2.02b works fine. Bart is quite good:)

Is there any source available or at least a hint where to search for Pebuilder 2.x?

thanx, Holger
