windows 2000 comp won't boot

I've done everthing I can think of. System repair, cmos battery, Reset cmos, save mode(all types), Reset to last good config, everthing. This comp gets to the starting windows page with the white line on bootom. After the progress bar gets all the way acrrose the system reboots. I have no more ideas on how to fix it. The only reason I'm even worried abut it is b/c it has valuble stuff on it. Plz rply ASAP! thank you

can you not even get into windows in safe mode !?

maby try removing some hardware pci cards and then booting one may be faulty ?!

or disconnect all other drives apart from the boot device if you have multiple drives ?!?

if you have more than one stick of ram try remove one and boot up or replace it and remove the other try every combination of boards and ram possible and you may get lucky :)

Boot from Bart or WinPE Cd with Antivirus; scan for one that may be rebooting you (.. have you booted in SAFE mode yet to eliminate drivers?)

thats just it, I can't get into safe mode. I'd try the bart cd but i don't have another comp with 2000 on it. Plus I can't make one b/c it dosn't support windows 2000 pro.

The Super_WinPE_2003 disk is a bootable XP or Win2003 CD that runs a short version of either NTFS OS. It can access your 2000, XP, or 2003 system, and can run 32-bit antivirus utilities against your drive.

This is also possible with a live linux CD, but getting write access is not on by default... you can copy files off, however.

don't know if official, but BartPE works with W2k;
if you don't have another W2k machine, then you can use a XP or W2k3 machine too;

thx guys i Fixed the problem. Its a little late now i know but it was a sound card i had installed. I took it out of the "pre pci" slot and did i system repair. Everything worked great. :D
