Win on CD 5.0

I have been trying to install this program on my system which is running Windows 98 SE. In an attempt to install, the installation stops, and gives a message in german that basically says "There was an error writing to file" and a few other words that I could not translate. the only option is to back out of it. After backing out, my system reboots, but the program never completely installs. I had been using 3.8 PE which I uninstalled. Can somebody point me in the right direction to help me get this proggie installed. Any help would be much appreciated.

Had the similar problem m8, but I managed to install it but what I didn't manage is to start the program, I can double click it as many times I want but nothing, after all that shit I decided to erase WinOnCD and juste be a happy user with Nero and Fuerio :D

you cannot start it because you were using a blacklisted serial. who told you that winoncd 5 is a shitty program, it is the nr.1 burning pro according to many german pc-magazines (chip, pcwelt, just to mention some). if you cannot properly install winoncd 5 (use the right serial) than you have no clue about what it can...

I had 3.8 version and it worked sometimes but mostly coasters so I thought 5.0 would be something better but after reading some opinions here I stayed with Nero (now Discjuggler is the new king).

When you say they are writing something like this "WinOnCD is the best, 5 starts etc" did you ever consider that they are payed to write that?

Even though I am not german, I used to live in Germany for many years, and I can guarantee you that their PC magazines don't just post fake results (in comparison to US magazines who sell their soul for money!). If three or more german pc-magazines after extensive testing say that WinOnCD 5 is the best program than I believe that. If you don't believe it, that's your problem! I tested many burning programs (EasyCD Creator, Nero, NTI CD Maker, CloneCD, Cdrwin, Instant CD/DVD, DiscJuggler, RecordNow Max etc) for 2 years now and I'll stick with my WinOnCD 5.03! By the way, Nero was second in the review! ;)

A question:what software do you use to copy protected cd's:safedisk 2,securom,CactusDataShield ,Key2Audio and so on....?
CloneCD for 'special purposes', WinOnCD for the rest...
I am not trying to teach anybody what the best software is, I just interpreted some reviews from pc-magazines. If you think that you know more than they do, than you guys shouldn't waste your time answering posts like this! If you don't like WinOnCD don't use it! ;)

Most of the guys who have been around a while dont/wont use this proggy.
If u or anybody else likes it that is great.
However, if u or anybody else recommends this proggy to the forum at large then it is only right to point out that it is not the best program available.
I like Nero and it works for me for a lot of things, but I cant say it would be the best for everyone(its not!).
Newbies look at the posts and could be influenced by your claims.
The reason this forum is here is to cut through the hype and give opinions based on experience, as you yourself have done.
Then people can make up their own minds.:)
