hi all
im having trouble getting my rewriter to copy films.

im using dvd shrink 3.1 to copy films thats ok then i go to nero 6 get the film ready,tell it to burn and it says waiting for the drive to be ready, may have wrong dvds (i may have dvd+r) my rewrite only dose - not +

then i went and got some diffrent dvd-r and it started to burn but when i took the dvd-r out my dvd said it couldnt play so i took the disc and put it back in my comp went to e drive and there are files on the disk.

i am new to all this can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong.

p.s it works ok on dvd-rws, not dvd-r ???

Hi chloeandrich, Welcome to our forum! :)

it looks like "the standard" problem: incompatible media;
even if you now use the proper format -R, there are immense quality differences in brands; try Ritek G04 (DVD-R) like recommended everywhere around;

Are you saying your DVD ROM isn't reading the -R or DVD player?

How old is the DVD ROM? Some DVD ROM's cannot play some types of DVD. Most cannot play DVD +.

If it is a recent DVD ROM then it should work.

What is the drive?
