hello,

first i would like to thank everyone who helped me create my first DVD movie :)

i tried to burn my movie both in nero and in tmpgenc.

Nero :
used .dv files as source files.
i had only sound no movie both in the computer and in my dvd player.
the movie RAN in my dvd player, yet, i could have seen menus but in the movie i had only sound.

therefor i tried the Tmpgenc and had the following problem

Tmpgenc :
used .m2v files as source files
in the computer the movie runs great ( menus + movie + sound ).
BUT my dvd player CAN'T FIND the disk.

my question is what prevent me from seeing the movie after created in Tmpgenc in my dvd player ? what shlould i do diffrently ?

many thanks
Eran.

If all your folder and filenames aren't in capital characters only, then the disk will play on the computer but not in the standalone.
Also, you must ALWAYS use two folders on the medium, AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS even if the first one is completely empty.

thanks scarecrow for your quick response.

does the name of each title and the name of the disk must be in upper capital only ?

So for Nero you used DV as a source but for TMPGEnc some how you got M2V (MPEG2)?
Nero accepted dv but tmpgenc didn't therfor i converted d2v before.

TMPGenc creates your mpv file but you just cant burn that to a DVD, you have to Author it first to a set of IFO,BUP & VOB files. Get TMGPEnc DVD Author, load in the mpv and ac3 audio, compile, then burn the VIDEO_TS folder with Nero.

this is what i've done....

hello,

i'm guessing that i didn't explain my self properly.

the i said that i used tmpgenc i meant tmpgenc author.

after using tmpgenc i burned the files with nero.

i have now 2 folders : AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. in the first i don't have files. in the second i have .BUP .IFO .VOB files.

all the files and directories are in upper letters.

after reviewing the replies, the only thing that might be the cause is that the titles name and the name of the disk aren't in capital letters.

what do you think?

What version of Nero are you using and what burning Option are you choosing ?
i'm using Nero 6. my dvdr is toshiba 5112 (can burn only r-).

yesterday i checked the disk on other standalone and it worked.

at first i thought it is because my cd can read r- but it can't be since it read the first disk (the one without the picture).

i don't know, very strange....

"i'm using Nero 6." arr... there are dozens of versions of Nero 6, which EXACT version are you using?

Would also suggest you look at some different media if it plays in one and not the other.
