Ive have use both DVDLab and TMPGEnc DVD Author and have found problems in both of them to do with lip-syncing. Most of the tracks turn out relatively fine yet the first 2 and last 2 seem to be out of sync
Among this i was wondering if there was a way for DVDlab to be able to preview the tracks cos all i get is green becuase of MPEG-2, yet in DVD Author its fine, but in Author you cant actually simulate the menu and its tracks. Is there another piece of software that combines both the usefullness of DVDlab (creating menus etc.) and being able to preview and add chapters.

Not with this <<<>>> MPEG 2 can be previewed in DVD Lab <<<>>> Green means its MPEG 1 VCD (Or absolute crap)

PS I have never had a lipsync problem that could be linked to DVD Lab (never use the other soft)

had the sync problem once with svcd mpeg2's in dvd lab my resolve was to strip the audio out in tempgenc bu demuxing the audio and video files.... and then just process the audio streams to 48k again in tempgenc then load the video and the ecoded 48k streams into dvdlab and use those instead of demuxing in dvd lab and using the transcode in dvd lab :)

In the Tools section of DVDLab there is an Audio delay feature, this can be used to fix a/v sync. Many sync issues happen with mpeg1 and svcd mpeg2 files, particularly those made or processed via TMPGenc. Best is to demux the mpg file first witrh MPEG2VCR then add these into DVDLab. DVDLab Pro also can use the TMPGenc AC3 Pluggin and convert the audio to an AC3 stream for better playback compatability.

yeah well it seems that every episode i own is in MPEG-1 format :( are MPEG-2's just larger files but better quality or something? but anyway, the thing is is that the DVD Author can easily preview my files that DVDlab cannot :(. is there another type of spftware i can use and also where do i find MPEG2VCR?

ok another question... can the actual burning process cause problems as well? (such as corrupted scenes that force a restart from the menu, oh or say.... lip syncing)

The burning process just burns what its given and in no way changes pic quality in any way at all. But copying to crappy media or burning at high speeds (ie. 8x on 4x media) can give those problems.
