which MPG2 hardware encoder?

hi!

i'Ve got an camcorder and now i can capture some DV movies over the firewire card to the harddisk (AVI format).

but my CPU is too slow to encode that movie to MPG2 (i.e. SuperVideoCD or DVD) - i've got only AMD k6-2 550 MHz.

so i thought, it could be better to use a hardware ecoder (i.e. any PCI card).
but i read only about analog capture cards, nothing about digital.

which MPG2 encoder card could i use to encode (in realtime?) AVI to MPG2 videos? could i use also any alalog card with MPG2 encoder onboard?

I don`t know if there are any cards that encode avi to mpeg2, but for capturing from analog to mpeg2 there are some out there from makers like Dazzle or Gator, but since you have a digital format already I would suggest to upgrade your cpu power and your ram capacity and capture using dv, edit and render to mpeg2 this will keep you with the best quality possible and will let you use some software encoders that are almost pro quality.
