http://www.the-console-corner.com/messiah_2_pro.htm

Have a look at both links to see both chips I would recoment.
The messiah apperently has some problems with the version station but it is unconfirmed if it is the chip or the installation that causes the problem.

Came accross the info after I installed mine keep fingers x-ed so far so good. :D
for an alternate choise and future compadebillity I recoment the DMS3.

The Side has the best price for both chip and they are genuine pieces.

Usually what the problem with the new v9's and 10's is that it's the LA/LB chips on the ps2 that actually cause the problem. It's a professional who should install modchips.

So far people haven't made any complains about the BlueX-5 chip. Messiah and DMS are also good but for the v9's and 10's. I think I personally would go with a Blue chip only because nobody so far has had any problems with them. That may be becuz they're not too popular.

BTW- IF you do get a DMS3 or Messiah then you have to get one that's specifically made for v9's and 10's. (Custom made)

Thank-you poco81, i did not doubt the links you gave. I have visited them in the long past and seen that the chips are for the v9's and 10's. I just suggested another alternative.

Yup that's how I got to know about the Blue chip. The guy that manages and owns that site and biz is ShadowKnyght.

I forgot to mention this the Blue chip only works on v3, v9, and Im pretty sure v10 PAL consoles. This is a PAL only chip.

Poco81 does your v9 have a heatsink attached?
Where abouts do you mean a heatsink attached it has a big one in the system about 4x6" be more specific might need to install one no prob at all if you recoment it. :D

Heat Sink

ps2king; Is this what you are refering to?

Information found on Austech.info web side

Hi all, just a slight problem on 50002 V9 and messiah 2
this chip seems to drive the CD optical focus and tracking mechanism to the limit until the LA6508 will just cook and give up.
Original blank media seems to be the main reason why this chip is dying. There is no in-built fails-safe on this chip eg. no boot reject disk (red screen).
Also this LA6508 is very heat sensitive, the old PS2 used a different chip and was more robust, but on V9's the fan runs at a lower RPM the chipset is more sensitive to overheating.
Sony remove the front dust grill from the V9 (and also the rear fan dust grill as in V3)
to improve air flow.
Increasing the fan speed may solve all the problems with M2.
Cheers Ram

Yes that is what I'm referring too. Another solution would be to attach a Heat sink in the Expansion bay. See the v9 becomes picky with the media. If you play bad media then the LA chip over heats. It's very sensitive.
