Which DVD-Rom???

Hey gang I'm seconds away from buying a new DVD-Rom for my system when i suddenly notice i can get 2 top grade drives for the same price..so i was wondering if you guys could help me decide...either the Lite-On 16x or a Toshiba 16x SDM1502...any thoughts would be appreciated

both are good drives. The Toshiba will be slower on a few things, but it will be able to probably read more CDs than the Lite-On (mainly music CDs).
That's just my thought (but the Lite-On could be faster for DVD ripping, but not by a whole lot I think *cause my Sony is faster than most Lite-Ons I know, yet it seems to be the only exception lol)

I use liteon 163.
Great for DVD ripping.
You will need quite a high spec system to get the full use of 16x reading.:)

Choosing from these two, go for the Toshiba which performs really well as a CD-Rom reader, as it goes well with all copy protections (except audio) and supports subchannel data. Another choice would be the Pioneer DVD-106s (SlotIn model) which is the best DVD-Reader, but isn's as a good CD-Rom reader as Toshiba is.
