Which cd writer/dvd player will definately read dvds X 4?

Hi guys

i have a sony dvd writer with a old toshiba cd writer/dvd player. both of these read dvds x2 speed which is slow! . I have tried all types of dvds, even copies but its always locked at reading X 2.

Since my cd writer/dvd player drive is slowly packing it in, i want to replace that and wanted to ask members of which one to buy (in UK). i pref one that definately reads(rips) dvds x4. Which is the fastest around available?

Dont think that you can beat a liteon mine rips DVD`s between 4 to 8x, get one of these puppies from E-Buyer (w*w.ebuyer.com) "i know that E-Buyer dont have a great reputation, but personally speaking i have had no problems with them" use quickfind code 29901 for product LTD-165-02VHC, this also retail boxed and for only £24.28, gotta be a bargain.

Have you done a firmware update on any of the drives? Also there is hacked firmware that can change the read speed of some drives. But, be warned that any flashing of a drive can kill it. You can find firmware for your drives here.
