Which Camcorder Software?

O.k. I've read all the threads here and done some research on the net and have come up with three.

Adobe Premier
Ulead VideoStudio
Pinnacle StudioDV

My hardware is, Sony miniDV camcorder, 1.4g Athlon, 320mg ram, 60gig 7200 hd, I have firewire.

From what I can see all there programs are good.
My question is whats the best for an ametur that just want his home movies on disc? I dont care about how many cd's it requires, I want the best quality available. I'm buying a DVD burner very soon so it wont matter. All I want is user friendly software with the common featutes

Premiere seems to be the standard by which the others are measured. However the learning curve is steep. Pinnacle and Ulead are capable programs for the amateur and are very easy to figure out. Alot of the enthusiast magazines and quite a few others here swear by Vegas Video by Sonic Foundry. It's not as difficult to master as Premiere and apparently has the best MPG2 encoder around. I personally use Pinnacle because I haven't gotten that serious about video yet and I've found it the easiest to use and still get pretty decent results. However, Vegas does render better results in the MPG2 dept.

Thanks for the info, anyone know where to download Vegas Video, with serial or crack of course.

Ps What the difference between mpg1 and mpg2. What the latest version of Vegas Video

MPEG-2 is what you will want to output your video in for DVD quality. The search button at the top will probably yield the results you desire in your quest for Vegas Video 3.0
