I've not tried copying PS2 games but Traxdata DVD-Rs are excellent and reasonably priced.I've copied a few films which play flawlessly on a PS2 as well as standalone DVD players.
Also you might want to try Intenso DVD-Rs as these are also excellent for DVD movies on a PS2 and standalone DVD players.
The only problem is they are both only 1x speed but are nicely priced quality DVD-Rs.
Sorry I can't really help as I am from the UK and get my DVD-Rs from a local computer fair in Manchester.
If DVD-Rs are really expensive in Oz I could get a few web/e-mail addresses from a few of the traders who might be willing to ship internationally.
I'm not sure about the exchange rate but in the UK Traxdata cost about £1.55 & I managed to get some Intenso DVD-Rs for £1.20
This compares quite well to something like Pioneer where I'd expect to pay about £4 - £5 per disc.
If you can get some Traxdata or Intenso discs then they are excellent quality and play glitchless on my mates standalone DVD player which cannot be said for many of the other cheaper DVD-Rs
Sorry I've taken a while to respond but I've been away for a few days.
I get my DVD-Rs from a local computer fair.
I should be going on Saturday so I'll ask a few of the dealers if they have their own sites and if they would be willing to export DVD-Rs.
I'll let you know what they say.
