I think On-Line is really better...I got a Retail Lite-On XJ-HD 166S which is what they are called now..(LTD-166S) 16x-48x DVDROM..which is the newest model..for 39.00 at -www.shentech.com...and ive read where some people have paid 90.00 for it at Office Depot and Places like that.

lite-on

I bought a Buslink 16x DVD Rom and a 48x12x48x Cd-RW from Best Buy and Lite-on was in the box.
Also bought a Pacific Digital 48x12x48x from Staples and Lite-on was in that box too.

Thanks CyberMuZ for the link..

There's a store about 5 miles from me.
Thanks Again to everyone, you guys are the greatest!

Another happy customer! Make sure to tell your friends about our wee little site. ;)

Came to this thread a little late. Nevertheless, PC Club is an excellent place to buy a true LiteOn in a LiteOn box. Not the cheapest, but ahhh the satisfaction of throwing down that CC and getting the product the same day. :)

The 16x LiteOn they carry will be a great improvement over your BTC drive peterdragon_20. It is one of the best DAE drives out there.

Just A follow up, I bought my Litely 166S at the PC Club store.
with tax a little over $43.00 yankee dollars. Installed it and boy what a difference, everything seems so much smoother.
Thanks again for the info on PC Club, they were very helpful and knowledgable.. Not like Fry's and Best Buy..

Glad it all worked out for you bud and a good deal too. I feel like going and buying another one ;)

As CyberMuZ and I were just discussing (privately ;)), Fry's is the "F" word and at Best Buy if you asked for a LiteOn they would send you over to the light bulbs. Guess that's what they mean by "turn on the fun." :D

But don't get me wrong, Fry's is a fun place to look around and they have one of the best return policies in the biz. But ask an intelligent question and you'll think you are back at Best Buy :D

And Best Buy is good for those impulse items like DVD's, CD's, and blanks, especially when they are on sale. I just picked up a bunch of Fuji - Taiyo Yudens for less than .10 cents a piece. Now that's a good buy. ;)

Cool thing peter_dragon. Welcome to the fleet!!!

My new drives should be here Friday TOYS TOYS TOYS!! :D

I Love getting prototype drives:D

I you are ever at Fry's and they ask you if they can help you, respond with " I doubt it! " hehehehehehe :D
