When would I choose "clone" vs. "backup" when using Norton Ghost 2003?

What is the difference between creating a "Backup" image and creating a "Clone"?

Maybe I could understand it better if somebody provided an example of when to use each.

Lets say your partitition is 5gig...if you clone a partition...you will clone the complete 5gig..usually if you are gonna move it to a new HDD...when you back up...you only backup the portion of that 5gig being used....hope this helps
