what is this Opera is it a like a internet explorer? i keep hering stuff about it and i am not to sure what it is

opera is imho a smaller faster and better browser than ie even if it has some problems displaying some pages with much javascript, but it has many nice features like a quick config menu with f12 where you can switch popups, javascript, plugins, cookies, referrer ... on or off
and it has a mail client that has all features i need (that are not many ...) and it has a very little instant messenging client compatible to icq ... but it's very little and not good so i don't use it ...

Opera is a small footprint browser that supports a vast majority of operating systems, and has a lot of features. Its small footprint means that it doesn't suck the resources or the life out of your system, and the non-java version is only 3.4 MB (11MB for the java version). Try it, you'll like it.

you could try eudora, if you don't like outlook...imho, I would get a pop3 checker before using a mail client. I use mailmoa (h**p://w*w.moazon.com - which is freeware), also I use mail washer (h**p://w*w.mailwasher.com - also freeware) which I can use to bounce junk mail back to the original server...

I found both of these very good!! :)

hope this help you :) ;) :)

Cool thanks for the heads up about mailwasher I'm going to give it a try. I hate spam!!! By the way its .net not .com.

i like using pegasus mail its quite easy to use and i prefer it to outlook as outlook is prone to virus loopholes and flaws ! :(

Opera is a browser with full css and css2 compliance, while at the same time being unable to display properly almost 20% of tha javascript loaded sites. In short, and despite the fact that version 6 improved a lot over the v.5 fiasco, it's a bad browser- and as such popular.
i don't care if it displays everything correctly the content is important,
and you can almost always design a website that it looks acceptable in opera, you have just to do some things in a different way. ie even displays some things like you want them even if they are coded wrong, so everybody things, ah i coded it right but it isn't and opera can't display it then. (it still has problems with correct pages too)
the main + is that it is fast, and the nice features it has make it popular too

You need try The Bat! 1.61 (latest version). You can setup multiple accounts and also tell it to check automatically for you every so minutes. Best of all...it can be minimized in the tasktray out of your way while it's doing it's work.

I've tried them all, but this one seems to be the best alternative to the Outlooks and works like a charm. Forget Eudora...I find it a waste of time and clunky.

Here's The Bat! website: w3.ritlabs.com

Download the demo and then download this link and follow the instructions.

Cheers!

Big problem with Opera is that it doesnt seem to use java correctly. There are also a few irritating things about it. I use it and sometimes a download isnt downloaded properly when IE has no problems, sometimes in a forum it'll decide to stop connecting with the server. Annoying.
