What's gone wrong with my 5.5.2.4?

I'm running a TEAC CD-W516EB under W2K. I use the burner only sparingly, but it worked fine for 20 months. It still reads CD's fine, but now will not verify data after burning. I've tried 3 different brands of blanks, including Fujis made in Japan. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drive - no luck.

Here's the log:

I've never tried to debug this device before, so can someone tell me:

1) Why are there 4 drivers referenced at the bottom of the log?
2) Why do steps #15 & #20 refer to SCSI anything? I have an IDE controller.

Any help will be appreciated.

1. They are drivers that are involved
NeroCD2k.sys is obvious ... belongs to Nero
The next two... have you also loaded Easy CD Creator 5 - particulary at or updated to version 5.3 ?
ASPI32.SYS (Ver=4.71) - you loaded Adaptec ASPI 4.71 ... this ALWAYS seems to be problematic - ASPI 4.6 is far more stable - and can normally be installed by something called ForceASPI 1.7 (found all over the net, despite the best attentions of Adaptec)

2. IDE Writers are usually addressed as if they were SCSI - the ASPI layer does the translation.
