What to do when EAC will not retreive from remote freedb

I have a store-bought music cd that I'm wanting to rip/compress. I say "store-bought" because this is not some kind of compilation that remote freedb couldn't handle.

Is there an easy solution to reading the text on the cd and transferring it to Exact Audio Copy besides freedb?

I'm trying to save myself the trouble of typing in the titles.

Hmmm..........I just did this and it saved me a lot of typing:

-Use CDex to read from freedb (for some reason it works when EAC doesn't).

-After getting the album match, choose from the menu "CDDB" ---> Save to CDPlayer.ini

-Open up EAC

-Choose from menu "Database" ---> Get CD Information From ---> CDPLAYER.INI

-The titles/artist should be there. At least, it worked for me

On EAC: 1. update your server list 2. force a working freeDB server 3. Check the EAC freeDB settings.
