I want to be able to continuously backup my c: (a 20 GB Maxtor) to a brand new 40 GB Maxtor I just bought here at work. That is to say, I would like to install the new drive and copy over the OS and all files to the new drive from the old one. I think the Maxtor MAX Blast CD that came with the new drive will do this. Then I want to have the two drives synchronized so that if I save something in a folder or install a new program, the same action will occur on both drives.
Is this possible without having RAID capabilities?
Can it be done with software only? If so what programs are most reliable for both continuous mirroring/backup and the original mirror?
The idea is that if one drive fails, I could remove it and go with the other and not miss a beat.
