The "E"s main difference is:

South Bridge:
-2 x UltraDMA 100
-2 x Serial ATA, RAID 0, 1
Promise 20378 RAID controller:
-1 x UltraDMA 133 support two hard drives
-2 x Serial ATA -RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1, Multiple RAID
-IEEE1394
-Lots of Serial Cables (4x)
-Lots of USB ports (8x)

Actually there are only two things different between this models:

- The south bridge in the -E model is ICH5R wich is suposed to have RAID capabilities the P4C800 Deluxe has southbridge ICH5.

- The NIC in the -E model is Intel CSA-based Gigabit LAN controller wich has native Gigabit support and is integrated in the south bridge the non-E has a 3Com 3C940 Gigabit PCI LAN controller wich is out of the south bridge and integrated in the pci bus and therefore more slower than the Intel.

The comparative chart between models can be found in here:
