what is the best cd dvd burning program ??

i just have some problems with my pc, cant burn with my pioneer 106 dvd burner coz my pc blocked..already asked my pc retailer but still no answer..i use win me..i can do anything until i click 'record' or 'burn'and then i always get error msg like 'driver not found'or érror reading cd-information/bad medium..but i can play music files and open other files with my pioneer dvd 106....

maybe someone knows the solution.......

but in the meantime just a short question here:

what is the best dvd burning program?

you need to suppy alot more information..like what program are you using now...what does pc blocked mean....you have the lastest aspi layer installed....

im really newbie concerning burning questions.....

the problem is not my dvd burner coz i already changed 3 different burners, but the programmes i use, give error as i click on 'record' or ''create'
i like to use Nero 5.5.8.2 or Razio Easy CD DVD Creator 6.0 but i dont know which one is the best..............
and i use millennium for windows.....

i tried all, but still the same: cant burn anything (only play)

it started half year ago when my cd burner suddenly didnt burn anymore, then i changed 3x for dvd burner, but until now NO BURNING FUNCTION ANYMORE.....

so what can i do..i already upgraded my pc into extra HD, extra speed, all connections are ok....can it be that motherboard???? or bios????

i have as motherboard BIOSTAR M6VCG, with VIA Apollo chipset, Socket 370

further i have installed like this:
primary master = 60gb maxtor HD
primary slave = 120gb samsung HD
secundary master = pioneer dvd burner 106A
secundary slave = samsung dvd player

(i did changed this, but no differences)

i also re-installed a clean version of win me, roxio easy cd creator 5.0 + update, nero 5.8.8.8 dito, trial version of vob instant cd/dvd dito, but they all dont recognize the dvd burner - my bios and clone cd however do recognize the dvd burner, so what can i do..im really misserable!

Try updating Nero - as long as you own it, you get free downloadable updates (not to version 6 unless you bought it apart from a drive).

...but i already did that too....it wont work........still the error message of ''error reading cd-information - bad medium"

see if you can find RecordNowMax...4.5 its around..and also..it just might be your DVD Media...have you used other brands...like Memorex?...also...you have late versions of Roxio..that i dont think support DVD writing...Roxio 6.0 does and Nero 6.0 does.

RNM does not support Pioneer 106 yet- only partially.
As for using Roxio stuff, you might as well set it on fire- it will save you valuable time. Actually all latest releases of Roxio programs do support DVD burning theoretically- however in practice they can barely burn anything...
A tip that might work fine: Install Burnatonce 0.98 (manages both CD and DVD's) and then go to the folder /program files/burnatonce/external and delete the file cdrdao.drivers (as your device is not officially supported yet by BAO, or rather its burning engine CDRDAO). Another solution that might work OK is adding by hand a line in the cdrdao.drivers textfile:

R|PIONEER|DVD-106|generic-mmc|OPT_MMC_USE_PQ|OPT_MMC_PQ_BCD

This might or might not work, don't have a pioneer 106 myself.

BAO does not support DVD+R officially yet (only -R) but most likely it will work.

so what can i do?????? im really desperate.........

This is a standard warning,ignore it.I use the adaptec aspi layer everytime I install any Windows O/S. ;)

The new verion of Nero should be working however,as it uses it's own aspi driver.It should also support your new Pioneer dvd burner(some earlier versions might not).

Run the program I attach here,and post the text log it creates please. ;)

Okay run the program attached.Then reboot..Finally use the next file I attach..aspi will be updated.Then that problem will be resolved.Will have to be something else wrong if that fails to fix it. ;)

I use alles with mijn 106 - Nero, BurnAtOnce, Alcohol, Prassi, DiskJuggler... Don't really have problems. I just never use Roxio EzCDCreator (te veel problemen, too many problems with it).
