In DVD shrink burning options there is a option called dvd book something i seem to have better results when unticking this but what is it and do i need to use the high compatibility mode for DVD+ if i am using dvd- media cheers

It is full filesystem compliancy with the OSTA UDF specifications- so that you'll be 100% sure your burned disk will be playable in any standalone that doesn't complain about the media type inserted. If your standalone doesn't complain- don't use it.

Some burners (Liteon, NEC and Ricoh) can change the booktype of a DVD + to DVD ROM booktype. This is the same as a commercial DVD.

It means it will allow a DVD player that doesn't play DVD + to play it as it thinks it is a commercial DVD. My Panasonic DVD Recorder works like that.

A DVD+RW can be chnaged after burning but a +R needs to be done prior to finalising.
