What is a good stand-alone DVD player that will play most burned DVD's???

I'm looking for a new stand alone DVD player for our new TV. Any suggestions on what to look for that will be compatible with most burned DVD's???? Is progressive scan a big deal???? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Its a case of suck it & see but the Ronin appears to be cheap & plays most stuff

I bought a Sony DAV-SA30 kit, to go with a new tv, and surprisingly for a Sony it's played everything I've thrown at it, including svcd.

Great sound, and the bass boost is a hoot with action movies
