What is a Cendyne CRW-5224A??

Hello ALL:

I have a Cendyne 52x24x52 and it was a Liteon LTR 52246S...cool.

I got another one from OMax (free trade for Verbatim 4812...don't ask), and it is also a Cendyne52x24x52...but it says CRW-5224A...what is it? Is it AOpen? Is it any good? I suppose for free it should be OK.

I wonder if NERO supports it?

TIA

hehehehehe

I wonder if that is the one I took back as it crashed the sysem booting. Also NONE of my burning software had DRIVERS for it, only NERO that came with it. I took that damn thing BACK. The Lightening model.

OK, I will check it tonight. I have not even opened it yet. Yes, I believe the A in the 5224A means it is an ASUS. I have seen OK reviews on this. Will let you know.

Re: hehehehehe

I forgot...I also hope mine is an ASUS as I also noticerd the AOpen was not supported by anything!

B4 you flash see what benifits if anyy you get from new firmware thats if they list the changes on the download site.
Try some cheapo'c blanks in there burn @ hi speed'd etc It might well B a stable firmware you have there now.

Well, I flashed from 1.0 to 1.1. There is a 1.2 but some say they have had problems with 1.2. Still, it seems to be OK. I do have media that my Liteon sees as 52x and the ASUS sees as 48X...actually not too bad. At anyrate, I do not have the binary code...only the complete flash program and code from ASUS. How do I get the bin/hex to use mktflash? I see it nowhere.

TIA
