What does "llama" mean?

In computer speak, especially within the gaming community, I have seen people reference others with the word "llama".
Now, I get the gist of it. I think it means "trouble maker" or something equivalent to being lame.

But if there is a more specific meaning I would love to know.

I once heard it said that the term comes from an old "Monty Pyton" joke. As I understand it... it is because Llamas spit at you, which of course is considered rude and crude by humans (to the Llama its just a defence mechanism and a dominance thing amoung other Llamas). Plus anyone who raises Llama's knows they are a little shifty and change alliances when it best suits them. They are very intelligent animals in reality.

Now it can be no concidence that "llama" and "lamer" sound pretty much the same depending on how they are pronounced ;)

So yea..."trouble maker" is a good interpretation bud! Someone who is rude and crude, causes trouble, and is a little shifty...a lamer!

SPAS Llama

I play Urban Terror - Q3 Total Coversion a fair bit and you get a variation on a theme, you can be called a ' SPAS Llama ' during a game, a player that uses the shotgun mostly, a game-strategy choice requiring little skill due to the indiscriminate spread of the gun's ammo.. :D

Llama = lamer, think it's a pho-ne-tic thing mostly.. ever looked at a Llama, kinda ' gormless ' looking things, like Bambi, but from the wrong side of the street, as if it's been hangin' out with Ted Kasinsky in the woods..
