What does Cyclic Redunduncy Check Mean?

I tried to open 2 movie's (The Forgotten and Sky captain) and I get the same error "Cyclic Redunduncy Check"... Can anyone shead some lite on what to do? Or do you think both disks are messed up? Ohh and I am useing srink 2.3Thanx

Cyclic Redundancy Check (AKA CRC) error means either dodgy media, or iffy burner firmware, or in some cases both the above.

new copy protection on the forgotten for sure and maybe on skycaptain.
Anydvd 4.572 or newer will work to remove.
