What could be the cause of this? (oxp + sp1=error)

Ok I have installed office XP pro (build 10.2627.2625) and activated it successfully using the universal keygen (5.12).
I've downloaded sp1 and treid to install it but it stops everytime and gives me this error:

"error 1328. error applying patch to file
c:\config.msi\ptade.tmp it has probably been---------------the file the error shows up on changes sometimes
updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. "


Now my thoughts are that this is either caused by the keygen and MS locking me out or it's because this isn't a final build of OXP (or is it?).

Any ideas?

The key doesn't activate the Office Xp
You need the universal activator to do this.

Thanks stockss but how can you tell?


Oh and NetLion, I can activate just fine, if I try to reacivate it it says it's already been updated.



So it looks like I need to find a new copy:(

Ok I just looked up the error at MS's KB and stockss you were right:(

It's a student/teacher version so now I have to get a new one:(


Anyone want to trade for something:p
