What codecs to use?

After doing DVD's for some months i've got a bucket full of codecs on my pc and think its time to get rid of a few of them. 53 video and 35 audio as reported by Gspot.
so what i need to no is what are the ones best to keep and what not to dump, i'm not getting any prob's burning or encoding but just think things may be better with a few less cluttering up the place.
any suggestions would be helpful, or the best to replace whats on here

yep, as TP says, leave them alone; your system may be messed, but it still works;
if you really have video or audio problems, run GSpot and try to render; you will see the system choosen codecs; if they won't work you can try to disable them by using GSpot;
