Sony DRU-500a here (almost the same as U10a). Leaving aside some crappy That's Write media and Nero it's unable to make a coaster. Also writing at 2X a few 1X certified media without any firmware hack.

Just 2 add, the new 510a is working fine with the new firmware, backing up using CloneDVD and anyDVD, also Alcohol 120 for CDR's, although I need to emulate for my backed up games. Shame the burner doesnt support full EFM encoding.

(Trubador now happy with his extremly expensive DVD burner.)
