Want to use "lame_enc.dll" instead of "Lame.exe"???

I don't seem to be having much luck using the external encoder "Lame.exe". It keeps crapping out about half way through CD. I've tried using EAC & Razorlame. I've also tried putting wavs to HD first!

Can anyone suggest a program that uses the internal "lame_enc.dll"?

Thax!

I know tons of people using lame(all versions, alphas and betas, exe and dll;including muself)....Now and always i use latest eac and lame beta).......If i got waves on my hd i use always latest razorlame and lame beta(newest one)............In all cases i never run into any problems.....:) And belive me,im ripping(encoding to mp3)alot----on a daily base:) .............Im 100% convinced that lame is a way to go for mp3s......satisfaction-guaranteed...................If i were you i would first find whats wrong with pc......Couse lame is compatible with all versions of windows.......Only adventage of dll against the exe is speed....For aLL OTHER EXE IS WAY to go......,....Still,as the guy said Feurio uses dll.......But in any case fix the pc and use exe......Reward will be more then appropriate:)

EAC can use LAME DLL - and also (though I wouldn't recommend it) LAME ACM.

The new LAME ACM wotks with many programs which only support ACM codecs, but my results for LAME ACM are that it does not identify bit rates in the listing - so you get a long droplist that all look the same!.

Thax for ur responses guys, especially "zver & LTR12101B"!

I found Cdex & have encoded a couple CDs & it worked great! It uses the Lame .dll.

Cheers!

If I were you I wouldn't use CDEX because it has a tendency to use *alpha* versions of LAME. These are just that: alphas. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Take a look at this thread on hydrogenaudio.org
h**p://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=2663 .

I'd go with zver on this ie rip wav's to HD and use razorlame to encode them.

If you like the LAME encoder, try using this app. It is easier to use than Razer and is GUI rather than cmd line.

Thax for the heads up Zoltan, but they went back to 3.92 & i listened to entire CD with headphones & there wasn't a click or pop to be had!
Everybody seems quite adiment about using VBR, but i like to use CBR at 192 & for the life of me can't tell any difference in quality!

Cheers!

@ Oldy :

thanx for the tip. winlame is the only prog I know that encodes ogg files at 500 kbs! this way there's hardly any reduction in quality (unencoded wav: 1400 kbs; winlame ogg: 500 kbs). I used to use audiograbber to encode ogg files, but the most recent versions of audiograbber allow only encoding at 320, cdex allows 350, but that's not enough for me, 350, that's mp3 quality. but 500 kbs is really cool. the only question now, is whether winoncd and nero accept ogg files when burning audio cds with cdtext. I guess ogg comments will get lost anyway. have to test, though, first

EAC is the way to go , and you can download it from the download section. THANK YOU To everyone who recommended that GREAT program to me.

Not only does it use LAME and make it easy to use witha GUI interface, it also has CDDB lookups that fills in all the id3tag info.
