Want to remove the Warning Screen using IfoEdit, Here is how.

Remove the warning screen from DVD Copy Xpress

There may be other ways to do this, but I was shown this one and it works great, I do it on all my copies.

Do not start DVD Copy Xpress with a recordable disc in the burner. Run step 1 (ripping the disc). When this is finished and it wants you to start step 2 (burning the disc) leave Xpress running and do not start the burn.

Run IfoEdit and open the VIDEO_TS.IFO from the temp folder that Xpress is storing it in. Double click VMGM_MAT in the top window and highlight First Play PGC.

In the bottom window scroll toward the bottom of the window. You will see the PGC Command Table near the bottom. Look for the "Pre" command, right click it and then choose the "Edit" Command.

In the Command: option select (Jump_TT)Jump to Title
and in the Title Nr: just select 1

After changing these settings click "Save" and when it asks overwrite the "BUP". Now that you have closed IfoEdit, with a writable disc in the burner finish Step 2 (burning the disc) in Xpress.

Like I said there are other ways to do it, but this one is quick and easy. Have fun.

I've tried this method twice now, and everytime I do it, something weird happens.

I follow the instructions exactly how it say( well supposedly) and for some reason it doesn't work.

What happens is, I do step one, where DVDXpress makes a temp folder of the movie on your HD. Then I use IFO EDIT and do the steps described and save it, then exit the program.

Then I put my Blank disc in, and pust start to burn, DVD Xpress closes on me :(

Anyone know why this is happening ?

I've used this program a few times without editing the IFO file, and it always works. But since I sue Ifo edit and do this, it's not working.

After the temp files are created by dvdxcopy express (being careful not to close the latter first) I move them elswhere, then remove the warning screen in IFO edit. I do not use dvdxcopy express to burn the files, I use nero or RecordNow max.
Its possible that DVDxcopy express detects the change as it uses an archive file, but as i use other burning software I avoid that problem:)

So doing it this way, do you burn it as a Image, DATA, or something else ?

Sorry never really tried burning like this .

I did try burning a game once on DATA and that didn't work :(
So maybe it's image ?

When I have the dvdxcopy generated dvd files moved to their new location I close dvdxcopy. These files are in VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders (if i remember correctly). Then to use Nero, simply select Video-DVD. Nero already has VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders set, so you need only drag and drop the dvd files into Nero's VIDEO_TS, after which you just write the dvd. With RecordNow max, you need to burn the files in a data compilation. Start a data window then drag and drop the dvdxcopy VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders into it and burn them.

When you burn these files you only need to be sure that they are within the VIDEO_TS folder (AUDIO_TS is empty but has to be there also) .

Good luck:)

Works awesome for me too, thanks!!!!

I also use this method for DVD's with multiple episodes on them such as Star Trek TNG etc. Use the same method as above except, change the pre command to:

(JumpSS_VMGM) Jump to VideoManager Menu

and then under Menu select the only option of: Title-Menu

This method works well with the new version of DVD X Copy Xpress which copies the whole DVD now!

I just tried this way and I for one don't like it. Don't get me wrong it's fast and easy but when you play the disc it starts at the movie. Not at the root screen, you can get it by selecting it but it doesn't come up by it self. Is there a way to get it to start at the root screen? Thanks.

Just tried this and it works for me. I'll likely do most of my movies this way. I like keeping menus and extras but when I put the movie in I'd like it to start... usually I'll still be looking for the remotes!

Couple of questions. Is the movie always title 1? What's an easy way to tell otherwise?

Does this cause any problems on any players? Power DVD seems rather tolerant to changes but a few DVD players are finikey.

Removing 123 Warning from DVD XCOPY EXPRESS

OK, after searching all over for how to remove the 123 warning from DVD XCOPY XPRESS and finding the same mediocre solutions, I finally broke down and figured out how to do. Meaning you can copy the DVD and have it play back exactly like or close to the way it appears on the original without the warning and retaining all or most of the original DVD content. Assuming you want all the menus and such.

It's not quite as quick as the ones posted or the patch but not a whole lot of extra work either. Just a couple extra steps. You will need IFOEDIT to do this.
The other method using IFO edit DOES work but it makes the DVD jump right into the movie upon insertion of the disk and you have to exit back to the menu if you want to change settings. My way will allow you to start at the menu or possibly even allow the DVD to run exactly as the original does depending on how it was mastered.

1) Start DVD XCOPY XPRESS *without* a blank in your recorder and make the backup as usual.

2) When it's done copying the files, minimize DVD XPRESS (Do NOT Close it!) and open IFOEDIT Load the VIDEO_TS.IFO file from the DVD XPRESS temp folder. (I will assume you know where it is or how to find it. You may also want to make a copy of it in case you mess it up accidentally to prevent having to re-rip it.)

3) In the top window, click on 'VMGM_MAT' and expand it. Then click below that where it says 'First Play PGC'

4) Switch to the lower window and scroll all the way to the bottom and find where it says '1.Pre Command'

NOTE: Up to this point this is the same technique as posted everywhere else. If you want your DVD Backup to start playing the movie immediately without displaying any menus or anything then jump ahead to STEP 10. You can have the movie start up automatically and still retain all the menus using this method.

5) Click the DVD PLAY button on the bottom of the IFOEDIT window. The screen will blank and 2 new windows will pop up; A play window where the dvd video will be displayed and a control window below that.

6) Press the stop button on the bottom left of the control window to stop the video.

7) On the control window you will see a section of pull-down tabs labled 'JUMP'. Here is where we will find the actual start point of the DVD.

8) Click the TITLE pull down tab and start clicking on the titles displayed. As you select a number the Play window will start playing the DVD from the title you clicked. You want to find the title that is closest to the start point of the DVD as possible. For my example I use the GLADIATOR DVD.

note: On the Gladiator DVD, TITLE 1 is the actual movie, Title 2 is the Dreamworks intro and Title 3 is the Sony DTS intro. When you select a title the DVD will automatically start playing from that point and by going through all the Title options you will be able to determine what Title you want to use as your start point.

In GLADIATOR's case, Title 2 shows the dreamworks logo then goes right into the DVD menu, which is what I want. Remember, the title will be different for different movies so you will have to try them all to see which one you like best as your start point.

9) Now that I've determined that I want to use title 2 as my start point (Yours may be different), click the EXIT button on the right side on the control window and you will be returned to the normal IFOEDIT screen you had before clicking the PLAY button.

10) Make sure you've scrolled down to to where it says '1. Pre Command', right click your mouse on it to bring up the option menu and select 'CHANGE COMMAND'.

11) When the window pops up, pull down the 'Command' menu and select '(Jump_TT) Jump to Title' Then in the 'Title NR:' option below that, select the # of the title that you decided was the best start point on your DVD. In my case I chose Title 2 so I select #2 from the pull down.** Then click OK.

**For those who want to skip all crap and go strait to the start of the movie, you will always select Title 1. This seems to be the case for MOST of the DVD's I have tried it on. (I did have one where I had to start on Title 6 to start the movie from the beginning.)

12) Now you'll want to save your new IFO file over the old one. (Remember you might want to make a backup of the original IFO just in case. I never do but then again I live dangerously)

13) Once you've saved your new IFO, click on the DVD PLAY button again and IFOEDIT will play the DVD with the new IFO and you can see if it worked. It should play from the point you selected when you previewed the title list back in STEP 8.

14) If everything looks ok then close IFOEDIT and maximize your DVD XCOPY XPRESS program again. Insert a blank DVD and click OK. When it's done you should have a nice copy of your original DVD without the annoying 8 second warning message.

It sounds complicated but it really isn't if you follow the directions carefully. I'm pretty sure I have all the steps correct so if you discover a problem let me know and I will try to clear things up.

Good luck and feel free to leave any comments.

has anyone seen joepic's simple GUIDE posted over at DVDRHelp. I also had a guide for this but I think it's in cyberspace somewhere as I never put it on my site :(, but the guides that are there will show you how to do it anyway :)

you can also use the delete playback with Ifoedit if you have a forgiving standalone player to get rid of the added content in the simplest of terms ;)

even though I know quite a lot about IFO's, I don't like messing with commands as some intro IFO's contain hidden commands yet no video. I'd rather just remove everything and get the menu to play on inserting as it should

Read original auto play setting with IfoEdit

If you're making a full copy of the disc in DVDXcopy Xpress, why not simply open the original discs VIDEO_TS.IFO file in IfoEdit to see what it starts with? Obviously this is only if you want the disc to start up like the original.

It's the same as the instructions above; only instead of changing the command, make a note of it. Then change the IFO file in the backup copy to the same one (such as Jump To Title 4, whatever it happened to be.)

after you select the last one and hit save you have to hit save on the bottom of ifo edit also.

How do you change the content of that screen?

I was wondering if there were any way to edit the backup screen put in by DVDxCopy xpress?
