vynilripper

Hello Guys!
I have heard about a program called 'vynilripper' or something. Could you post a link to that or recommend a good program for digitalizing LP's (transferring them to CD)! Thank you!

There are many proggises like that...Get feurio,eac,cdex,audiograbber and many more....Or even better get an editor and youre all set...Go to cdrsoft download,wavelab and sound forge is there take your pick!!!!!!!!!!!

try dart pro

my favorite is Steinberg's WaveLab 4; (follow zver's hint)
but you can't conect your phonograph direct to your soundcard; you need to link a phono preamplifier (or a Hifi amplifier with integrated phono preamp) between;

a good one and very simple to use:
wavecorrector.
do the principal :
extract waves and remove clicks without smooth trebles..
i have tons like sound forge,cooledit,steinberg...and others.
no one has the quality to remove the clicks without remove the treble like wavecorrector.

if not my mistake,here ius the link:

all appreciated

Well, thanks guys, I am familiar with the basic idea behind ripping lp's to the pc, I mean sound card and so on.
The link to wavecorrector doesn't work, but that's all right, thank you for the reply I'll try to fing these progs myself.
I also think that a very reasonable choice besides Dartpro is CoolEditPro, which is said to be one of the most thorough programs ever designed for this job!
Well, I still appreciate your tips, hints and ideas, but please, give me useful hints and your preferences. Needless to say I have my programs to start with since digitalizing without knowing the gist of it is useless.

Thanks

i didn't record yet from analog sources; my inputs are always wave files via CD and digital streams via DAT machine;

but maybe you will find the WaveLab help file usefull; i will attach it; take a look in the recording rubric and also in "Plug-In processor reference > VST Plug-Ins > Declicker"

Help appreciated!

Thank you very much for supplying helpful ideas. For some of you who are interested, I have also enclosed an attachement, a tutorial that I found at the wavecorrector official site. Also, they might be noteworthy, two links are also enclosed. Enjoy and thanks again!

Just went looking for free VST plugins to use with AUDACITY.

Plenty of sound-manglers, but no sound improvers - you can ADD vinyl sound with free plugins, but not take it away.

I have made several transfers from my old vynils to cd using cooledit pro, and the best results for me were using this steps:

- first record one entire side of the disc into a single wav file, make sure you use a good record level, the sound must be strong and clear of distortion

- try to sample the noise of the lp and scratches from a silence in between songs by selecting it and in effects menu select noise reduction/noise reduction and use "load profile from selection", if you want you can save the profile and then select the entire file and apply the effect

- by this time you should have an almost entirely clean sound so now just make any adjusts needed (if they are needed) using the graph eq

- split the file in the respective tracks or use nero to make the track references for the cd
