vob instant cd/dvd 6.5 problems

ever since I updated my pioneer 104 to version 1.40 I can't burn over 800 mb.
it works on nero ok but I prefer vob instant because it plays on every dvd player I have tried.
but now it will not burn over 800 mb since I updated.
have downloaded vob instant again still same even with version 6
am using win xp pro with 768 ddr+p4 2000.
any help much appreciated

yes all my firmware is up to date.
let me explain how I copy a dvd...........
I use my philips 880 dvdr+rw set top dvd player with macrovision hardware and a sony set top dvd player to copy dvd's.
when it is copied I just copy the vob files to my computer then use create IFOS with IFOedit to create the bootable dvd and then just burn using vob instant or nero and it plays on my dvd player or xbox.
but vob instant will only record under 800 mb but all other burning software will burn correctly.
can someone tell me what is wrong with vob instant.

thx

have tried all the above still the same....
what I have found out though is when vob instant is copying ifos and vob files it is'nt doing it right.
it is just copying one vob file not the whole job lot but nero and other burning software burns correctly.
the only reason I want to use vob instant is because it is the best one.....when copied it plays on every dvd set top player I have tried which nero fails on most.
I don't know what to do have even tried it on win98se still the same anyway much prefer my winxp pro.
anyone have any idea what it could be much appreciated.

thx

Same Here

I have the same problem. This is driving me NUTS. I have tried everything i can think of. I've changed settings, diferrent drivers and even the new recorder updates and newest firmware.
The program just won't record more than the first VOB file.
Maybe i need to find another version?

I do use Nero. I just wanted to try (from what i hear) the best recording software out there. Of course this a matter of opinion cause if you ask me now, it sucks. However, it does record CD's with no problem. For some odd reason it just won't recognize more that one VOB file. This is also true when trying to create an ISO image. So i know it's the software.
Just one question, when you update the recorder list with the .REG file, is there anything else that needs to be done?

Thanks

No that´s all.

I am with you, i tried every version of VOB but i am still using Nero.

No i am not paid from Ahead.

Im using nero sincde nero4--tried all others .........................But nero is a king..............People saying is become buggy,but for me it works perfect...........Simple and functional......I have nero as a main burning thing,feurio for audio(or eac),samplitude for rest(edit if i need or recording linein)..........Nero is that good that if i dont have an original serial#,that would be first sofware that i would gladly buy...with winrar of course!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes it is;
you can kill the old registry entries and add only the new one for your recorder; so Instant CD/DVD can find the right settings faster in your reg data base;

i have prepared a attachment for the Pioneer DVR-104;
1. close Instant CD/DVD
2. use kill_all.reg => OK => OK
3. use add_104.reg => OK => OK
4. take a try

Attachments

I have fixed the problem I can now use vob instant CD/DVD after many hours pulling my hair out.
what I did was downgrade my pioneer 104 to Revision : 1.31 from 1.33 and now my one speed dvd disks copies at two speed.
I then copy paste my vobs to a VIDEO.TS folder then I opened up create IFO's using IFOEDIT then I open VIDEO_TS.IFO and used get VTS sectors then saved it.
and thats it folks burns flawlessly using instantcd/dvd 6.5 in udf 1.02 and plays on every set top player I have tried
By the way Prassi PrimoDVD 2.0 works as well (it did'nt before)
anyway hope you all have a HAPPY NEW YEAR.........
:) :) :)

yes, go the same way;
let the kill_all.reg be unchanged;
modify the add... reg file and leave only the Sony DRU500A DVD entries (copied from the original downloaded writer.reg) in it;

a Happy New Year

Well, after all that, it turns out that Instant CD/DVD was not the problem. I was using IFOedit to author and that's where my problem was.
I tried 3 different ocassions with the same movie authoring with IFOedit and only once did it work with Instant CD/DVD. However, it did work with Nero all times. I tried to author with others and they all worked fine with Instant CD/DVD.

Thanks to all for their help.

I am playing around with Pinnacle Impression DVD and this has worked real well so far.
