I have a burned dvd i'd like to copy the videos from, and they look like this....
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VTS_01_0.BUP
VIDEO_TS (IFO)
VTS_01_0 (IFO)
VTS_01_0.VOB X6

the vob files i can copy and play without a problem, its just the ifo files i dont know how to use correctly, and how would i get these files in a supported format for burning to a dvd, vcd, anything.

Are the files in a folder called VIDEO_TS

You should also have a folder called AUDIO_TS on the disc, which will be empty.

Just copy both folders and record as a data disc.

what will the data do for me though? if i am trying to be able to read it through....lets say, windows media player, and i am not sure how to do that, and if possible keep the menu with it as well. so basicaly burn a dvd+r copy of the burned copy itself

Place all the ifo & vob files in a VIDEO_TS folder somewhere, then double click the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and what ever DVD Player Software you have will play the movie.

Then use Nero 5.5.x or Record Now Max or what-ever to burn this to a DVDR. As fffclub said, make an emply AUDIO_TS folder and burn that with your VIDEO_TS folder as well. Make sure they are in CAPITALS also.
