virtual dub

can anyone help i got a problem with a movie ive tried to load into vdub. it says (virtualdub has detected an improper audio encoding in the source avi file and will rewrite the audio header with standard cbr values during processing for better compatibility. this mayintroduce upto 4101ms of skew from the video stream. if this is unacceptable, decompress the entire audio stream to an uncompressed wav file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder.(bitrate;181.2-16.5kbps). but ive played the movie in media player and it s ok. thanks in advance. i also get error msgs in tmpeg

I assume you want to convert your divx into mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 to burn it as vcd/svcd ?
Don't worry about this message in VirtualDub.
Just set audio > compression to "no compression" and conversion to 44100. And then, File > save wav.
You'll get a wav file you can use in TmpgEnc as audio source. Use your avi file as video source.
While you're in VirtualDub, have a look at File information, to see about the fps (first line in "video stream") and write it back (25.000, 29.970 or 23.976). You'll need it in Tmpgenc to chose your template (Pal, ntsc or ntsc-film).
Hope this will help.
