i am looking to start to do a few videos of film releases for myself but dont know where to start . i have a good graphics card with tv out and the rest but i dont know where to download films from people say u need fttp to download but dont know anything or wat softwear i need i would be grateful if someone could explain all to me and wat i need and where to get it .

ok a little uncertain of what you want to do. You say you want to to do a few videos?... but then you mention downloading films.

Do you plan on making digital movies yourself? or do you plan on just downloading movies off the net?
If the latter, then yes, most things are better found on ftp sites.
It's a type of File Transfer Protocol in which you will need a program/client to download through them.
If you use our search button you will be able to find a few ftp programs (or at least talk about them & cracks/patches needed for some).
I myself like to use cuteftp, but there are many others (ws_ftp/smart ftp/bulletproof ftp, etc) some of which are even free. Try tucows for info on them & ratings.
If you need more info or this is not what you wanted, post again (sorry as am a little unsure what you meant).

thank u for youre reply iam wanting to download films and then piu them onto video .sorry if i was not very clear just a new to this .i dont know anything about fttp and cue tip i think my isp suuports fttp i am on plus net or am i getting confused .so do i need to download a programe to be able to download from these sites i know in the past when i have tryed to download software from some sites whisch are fttp i think i have had no luck at all .is there any sites that have a tutorial on this or can u explain in very simple terms wat to do and get .

They are already video...do you mean you want to transfer videos on your VHS or CD or DVD?
Do you mean you want to rip movies and put them on the net?
Can't understand..sorry

If you want to get/upload files on ftps, yes you need a program, just follow shadoe_p instructions...

ok first step then would be for you to download your stuff via an ftp client (or peer2peer like eDonkey2000/Xolox/LimeWire, etc).

secondly, you would need to then get a video card that offers TV out or an add-on for those things (but like you said, you already have one).

**the only concern I have is:
from a divx to VHS you are actually not making any progress. You would be better off making a VCD or SVCD of your divx movies, so you can play them on a standalone DVD player (which support those), but to each his/her own. Not going to tell you what to do, just a suggestion.
