video to cd

has anyone turned video from a cam corder or vcr to a CD. If so what proggy do you recomend for ease of use and if poss where to down it free would be nice !!!!!! :D :D :D

You need to go to h**p://www.vcdhelp.com/ there is a how to guide on capture and authoring vcd/svcd/xvcd etc.

There is a guide also a guide at h**p://www.vcdhelp.com/DVDConversionGuide/
listing the programs that you may need, a lot of these are free like TMPGEnc or TSCV or can be made free like adobe premiere.

I have found out a fast way to do the job .Because the way U recommand to covet the VOB file to Mpeg file need 19 -20 hours to do that.
Right now I foud out another programDVDX1.6 The website is w*w2.labdv.com/dvdx . if you use that todo the job direct covert moive file to mpeg fiile (We are skip couple step only need 9 hours to do that) then using Nero Buring the Mpeg to Vcd that it. Pls give that a try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I have tried DVDX from the begining and although it is quick and relatively easy to use, the quality of the picture is quite poor compared to using TMPGEnc. Even using FlaskMPEG with the same Panasonic plugin gives a better quality picture.

I convert most DVD's in about 5hrs, not 20hrs so I would guess your CPU's speed is about a 400. Mine's a 1.2g Athlon
