vhs to vcd

help!!!!!!!!!!
just got new graphics card msi fx4200
and am looking to make a back up copy on vcd of my
some of my videos the card came with winproducer
i have managed to copy to hard drive but dont know what format and how to make vcd from there or if i would be better getting a different type of software dont know anything at all

get GSPOT and use it to check the file format you have recorded in you need to convert whatever format you have to .mpg for vcd or .mpeg 2 for SVCD

let us know what format you have recorded it in and we can help you further as to conversion to the correct format for vcd/svcd
