Well, I finally got around the issues I had with DVDStripper and got some results.
I have to say very nice results. I'm an American who likes my Pie completely featured. So I took this disc as one of the first. This is the first disc I have used DVDStripper and MenuEdit on.
Integrating the 2 tools to work together was very straightforward and well done. The Force Exit option was very helpful in preventing Multiple copies of MenuEdit from flooding the system.
Comment on the Force Exit option. Perhaps this could be added as a setting on a per configured basis (like set it on the options screen {add a checkbox to the 2 path lines})?
I was able to easily edit out the menu button functionality for the French audio and the Spanish subtitles that I would remove later in DVDShrink.
DVDStripper made it quite easy to remove all the preview crap that plays prior to going to the main menu when this disc is inserted. It also made it easy to remove the company logo bit prior to the start of the movie itself.
Further changes DVDStripper made easy were changes to the Soundtrack advertisement. The initial advert portion and the song video were removed. Since I do like to try and keep the original material the last part of that was left which played one of the songs while scrolling the list of songs on the soundtrack.
Previews for other movies were all removed and resultant menu items disabled.
Overall, once various issues with SMP were resolved things got better (it took forcing both programs to a single processor). Although I still had crashes with IfoEdit the disc did indeed turn out good.
The results were very good and I am most impressed with the way the program rapidly does what would normally take hours or even longer doing such things manually.
