vcd's

hi guys i am posting in this forum for the first time. I was rather surprised to find out that guys in USA and EUROPE are more interested in video cd softwares than we guys in ASIA . As far as the forum is concerned i may be a junior member but it is due to lack of time iam not able to post my views in the forum . I have been burning vcd's from 97 onwards . But since i have been busy with my shop ( i run avcd and dvd library since 1997) and burning vcd's and converting vhs to vcd i donot get time to post my views. But i do have one advice for all of u. NERO is the best and the fastest for creating vcd's and POIKSOFT easy audiocd creator is the best for creating audiocd's on the fly without converting mp3 to wave as well as overburning.EASY AUDIOCD CREATOR IS AVAIABLE FOR DOWNLOAD FROM DOWNLOADS FROM THIS VERY SITE. Ihave used almost all the burning softwares mentioned on this site and the easiest software to use for burning data cd's is BURN QUICK 1.5. All u guys in EUROPE and US forgive me for the language that i am going to use. We ASIANS are not BEGGERS as u think we do buy orginal dvd's as well as vcd's . My collection of orginal dvd's is in the ratio of 3 orginals : to 1 pirated dvd's. :D Now coming to the best part the only software that i have not used for burning is SIMPLICD . If any of u guys have a copy of the programme please donot forget to send a link . Bye for now

Nero throws a VCD together quite well but I wouldn't use it's own encoder. TMPGEnc+ is so much better.

I also have a good collections of VCDs (both original and pirate). At least 400 of them are from Malaysia and I still get some sent over on occasion. Nero's encoder produces better results than most of the pirate VCDs that are sold in the streets of Kuala Lumpur but it still isn't a patch on TMPGEnc+ which is virtually as good as commercial VCDs.

Nero sucks for creating VCDs my friend. Good for burning them, but it's conversion/encoding gives poor quality. This is why in most of asia I find poor quality VCDs (even the original VCDs you rent or buy in stores aren't too good), & I prefer to make my own following the tutorials paved here by ChickenMan.
The easy audio CD is ok, but it is the same sh*t as mp3CD Maker.
Some things that lack from it that others offer better handling with, but they do the job ok for me (so most times I use MP3CD Maker).

PS
will move this to movie section (as it is more appropiate there), but a partial link will be left behind here for a few days.

That should read "NERO is the easiest and the fastest for creating vcd's", the word Best does not fit with Nero.

As a proprietor, I would see speed is your first criteria in creating a VCD. Unfortunately, most members here would consider Quality to be their first criteria. Nero encoded VCD's may fit with speed and quality expected in your market, but simply does not here. I use to get a lot of "originals" from many Asian countries years back, as that was all that was available then. Once I've leant how to do the conversions myself to meet my quality needs and trying all the available software, I have never got any of those poor quality Asian movies ever again. They simply do not compare in quality to a VCD DVD rip made with the DVD2AVI/TMPGEnc method.

Cheers,
