yeah i can't burn sucessfully on my TDK 40x with any of the drivers. The MMC driver did work but the cd failed.

I think the trick is to just create the bin/cue file to the hard disc and burn it with CDRWIN 3.9B. The latest version of this prog seems to have support for all the latest models.

MurderOne's suggestion is a good "work-around" that does work.

I have a LiteOn 40125S and works very well with either generic-mmc or generic-mmc-raw drivers. Also on the botton line where it says "ASPI Seams Valid:" well mine says No, but still works fine. I'm running Win2000 aslo. Try a different ASPI layer, 4.60 always seems to get best results.

what's the problem with nero people have been talking about??

lately, to avoid all the burning trouble i have, i just create the basic mpg file and create a new vcd/svcd in nero and it works ok in my player. no problems with the fast forward and rewind either.

i haven't tried chaptering or anything like that though, and i understand that all players have their own problems, right?

Nero still has a problem with SVCD creation. Not all DVD Players are created equal and unfortunately not all have playback problems, many do. If your lucky enough to have no ff/rw, goto, etc problems then stay with it. Dont trade or lend your disks to someone else though as they will probably have problems.

The safest solution for everyone is to use VCDEasy as it has none of these problems.

Poko, by the way, the latest non-beta version 1.1.2 of VCDEasy still used ver 1.1.5 of CDRDAO, I beleive the latest beta version uses 1.1.7 of CDRDAO.
