VCD went bad

I bought a box of Macross Plus Series(VCD) a yr ago...now i taken out and all the vcd cant play on vcd player or even on cd-rom. cd-rom only read 4 sound tracks that cant be played... anyone got this problem before?? how to prevent VCD from going bad...I heard from my friends LD also got the same problem of keeping it long. will DVD also go bad after keeping long too?

Where did you get your VCDs? My guess is philippines or malaysia lol (just a guess), but I know those countries tend to use really cheap CDs that just don't last long or are very sensitive to ambient temperature changes (as in your place is very hot, but then you use aircon all the time).
I know it sounds farfetched, but it is the honest truth. Some of the people there are also jerks & put a time limit on their CDs (I found that to be the case once). Just be careful where you buy your VCDs (& CDs), cause you want something on a good quality CD.
Hope that helps.

If they are press silver CD's (or DVD's) then they should last forever, well a very long time.

If a burnt CDR, then they may have "died" due to low quality media being used. If this is the cae, then there is nothing you can do except try on a few different CDR readers. One may be lucky enough to still read the track. If so, then quickly copy to HD and can be re-burnt to VCD later.
