sometimes i will have a vcd .mpg that i want to convert to dvd. for this job i have been using nerovision express 2. what i will do is take a couple vcd .mpg files and put them on the same dvd. I will bump up the bitrate until i can fill up the dvd.
the issues i am having are due in part to the source files. it will only happen on certain files and will never happen on others; sometimes when i encode, the finished dvd will occasionally freeze for a 1/2 second and the screen will pixelize for about 1/2 second, then go about its merry way. Is this what people refer to as "artifacts?" If i were to start over and encode again, these glitches will once again appear in the exact same places in the finished product.
I was wondering could someone give me an idea as to what might be causing this and/or any way to prevent this.
