VCD Plays on DVD player but not on computer

I have an original VCD from Japan. It plays perfectly on my DVD player. Cannot play it on my computer. I extracted the DAT with both ISO Busters and DAT TO MPEG, and it still won't play, if I try to make a vcd with Nero with this mpeg, Nero hangs. Tried to demux with TMPGEnc, and all that shows is the audio. If I try to cut it, I get an invalid mpeg stream error. The only info I can about this mpeg if from vdub: 538x2 frame size, 2147347.456 fps. vdub can't extract the audio file from the mpeg.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks for your time.

Had the same thing with Vanilla Sky from Phillipines copied ok with clone though.Have you tried vcdgear although if its the same thing as mine that didnt work either.

Discovered the answer. Made a bin and cue, then extracted from the image with vcdgear. Created a playable mpeg 1 file. Then I just re encoded with TMPGEnc and it was ready to go!

Hope this helps somebody else in the future. Thanks for the fast reply:)

I tend to make a CloneCD image and then use Isobuster to extract the MPG file. Basically the same as you did.

Obviously the MPG were not in VCD format then and you had to re-encode?

When I looked at the disk through explorer, all the files that are on a normal vcd were there. I really don't understand why making an image of the disk, then worked, while extracting the dat and re encoding didn't.
Anyway, it worked, that's all that's important. Thanks for your time:D
