i was wondering, which format do you most prefer? VCD or SVCD? and why?! thanks! i've done a few vcd, but never svcd...and planning on trying svcd out...how many disks is it? and does it take longer? thanks1

Which is better, depends on your personal needs.
I personally like VCD but make the odd SVCD of those specially good movies like Shrek, etc.
VCD offers me better than VHS quality, relatively quick to encode and normally fits to 2 CDR's. Most DVD Players will play them.
SVCD offers better then VCD but less than DVD quality, takes 2 or 3 as long to encode compared to VCD (if done properly) and normally fits to 3 CDR's. Many DVD Players will not play them.
Always worth a try on at least 1 movie, slect 2 pass VBR though.
