VCD Easy Burn Problem

I've just built a new XP system purpose built for mainly just ripping/burning VCD & SVCD's. Right, I'll rip a DVD to SVCD following CM's tut verbatim, however when I try and burn back the mpegs in VCD Easy on a 16X Plextor the burn *always* fails at different stages of the burn. :(

The burner is of course recognised by VCD Easy, I've tried the default driver and tried the mmc driver too but still the coasters persist!

Any ideas you DVD rip pros out there?

VCDEasy needs a good working ASPI layer installed in XP to work properly. In my W2k setup, VCDEasy has been the only program I needed to insatll a different ASPI layer than the one that comes with w2k. XP comes with nothing !

Thx, I realise this. Trouble is now....I'm getting this problem on 3 systems!!! I have Force ASPI 1.17 installed on them all and all drives are compat with CDRDAO too.

I can't even get it working on W2K on my main system using a LiteOn 40125S, I've tried all the recs at VCD Easy site, tried using default & generic drivers and almost evry single time I get a coaster 1/2 to 3/4 the way through the burn. I have nothing running in the background either when using VCD Easy.

Any ideas CM, I'm beat by this.

Arr.. you dont have Deamon Tools installed and its Icon in your system tray do you? I had similar probs with VCDEasy until I uninstalled Deamon Tools.

No m8 I don't.

Hold on a sec though.....would a "virtual" type drive installed by CDRW software have an affect on VCD Easy do you think?

I am thinking of the CCD one here.
