VCD creation using TMPGenc

Had my first attempt at using VCD to encode a DIVX Movie to MPG using TMPGenc

However right at the beginning it warns me that the resultant file length will be 330% of a CD

AND the orig movie is over 4 Hrs long, I know this is wrong, as the Movie is only 2 Hours or less

Am I doing something wrong

But DIVX of SHREK is saying it is 4 hours long
Whenever I have seen this, it is due to the AVI having compressd audio that TMPGenc does not like. If you run it through AVI Audio Decomressor, it should then read as the correct length and convert correctly.

Thanks which audio decompressor ??? do you mean within TMPGenc ??
Also, on the first page of TMPGenc it has a entry for video type i.e. NTSC PAL etc....This seems to be filled in automatically, is this ok, or do I need to change it ?? I tried to use batch processing but when I tried to add an AVI (DIVX) file it said the file type was incorrect !!! although it worked as a single encode !!!
Lastly is there a way of changing the default settings it would save me alot of time keep putting in the same settings

Thanks

In the avi to vcd tutorial it explains that u should rip out the audio first using virtualdub/nandub.
Then use the avi file for video anmd your audio (wav) as audio.
Its all in the tuts.
It maybe that your divx has been made wrong with a non standard fps or other error.
A lot of divx files out there are total sh*te!

You will have many problems if u do not seperate the audio to a seperate file with tmpgenc. (when converting from divx).
I do many per week.
Not every file will be troublesome.
But enough to make me seperate them everytime to save hassle.
