get one on import PC-GUY :p lol its your cash mate im just telling you what i use lol :)

and to be honest i can hear the fan on my radeon over the top of the Q-TEC lol :)
thats how quiet it is :)

@LTR its towards the back of the tower mate the open fins to the front fan to the back :)

the air flows from back to front of the fins so the fins take the heat away ... and the pipe/tube is liquid filled to take even more heat :)

my processor a 2.2 amd ran at 1.6 before with a crappy fan and sink combo where the fan was bolted to the sink :(

adding this the Q-TEC and not even any mods to clockspeed or voltage the processor now runs at 1.8 !? go figure lol :)

im happy :)

works great for me and a few of my mates too :)

Not a bad hs/fan, but jeez - 53.4 dB, kinda loud aint it?

take a look at this one: 21 dB !!

I was checking some reviews and I find that fan to be 40.7 db. Is that much of a difference? :confused:

I´ve been using this one for the last couple of months:

http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/cl-p0025/cl-p0025silentTower.htm

it works great and is almost dead silent.
weboneando what cpu do you have and what temps are you getting cause I'm not seeing a big difference in reviews.:confused:

adding +6 dB means every time the double of sensed volume;
so the conclusion is: 40,7 dB is recognized as more than 8 x louder than 21 dB;

Duracell I don't know if you got what I was asking. :confused:
See slippery said the fan was 21db but from what I read I found it to be 40.7 db.
So my question is that much of a difference between 40.7 db (Volcano Silent Boost) and 53.4 dB (Vantec) that I would really notice?:confused:

you are right, i mixed it up; :eek:

so i would rather trust the measured value (40,7) at Frostytech than Thermaltake's advertisement (21);

anyway there is still a difference between 40,7 and 53,4;
53,4 dB will appear as 4 x louder:
40,7 dB + 6 dB = 46,7 dB ≡ 2 x louder
46,7 dB + 6 dB = 52,7dB ≡ 2 x 2 louder = 4 x louder

I´m using a P4 3.0 Presscott at default speed, at the maximum load that I have achieved (running cubase sx 2.0, gigastudio 3.0 and 5 to 6 vst synths) the proc stays around 40°C and for noise I don´t botter anymore this thing is surely silent can´t tell exactly the numbers bacause I don´t have a DBmeter to measure it but it must be something around 24Db.
